Ingredients:

5 strawberries, halved
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 lime
1 L water


Directions:

Steep overnight to fuse ingredients and create a natural detoxifying drink.

Blueberry Orange Water


This yummy water has the antioxidant properties of blueberries and the toxin flushing properties of citrus. Plus, it’s really easy to make and tastes wonderful. Just mix about six cups of water in a picture with ice cubes, a handful of fresh blueberries and 2 mandarin oranges peeled and cut into chunks. You’ll want this to sit in the fridge for at least two hours so that the water has time to infuse. You can muddle the blueberries just a bit if you want to have a stronger taste or squeeze the juice from an additional orange into your water.

INGREDIENTS

6 cups water
2 mandarin oranges,cut into wedges
a handful of blueberries
ice


DIRECTIONS

1- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and put in the fridge for 2-24 hours to allow the water to infuse.
2- You can also squeeze in the juice of one mandarin orange and muddle the blueberries to intensify flavor a bit.
3- Serve cold.

Imagine clearing out those harmful toxins and relieving stress at the same time. This detox water recipe includes pineapple and basil. Pineapple has bromelain that cleanses the bloodstream and breaks down harmful enzymes so that they can be flushed from your body. Basil fights free radicals and is an excellent source of magnesium so it’s really good for your heart. Using spring or filtered water, mix together in a pitcher five strawberries, about ½ cup of chunked pineapple, 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, four or five fresh basil leaves and some ice. Allow it to steep in the fridge for at least an hour and enjoy.

Ingredients
Use FILTERED or SPRING WATER for ALL Recipes!
Stress Relieving Detox Drink
  • 5 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar*
  • 4 to 5 medium basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup ice
Day Spa Apple Cinnamon Water (with optional Boost)
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced (whatever your favorite is)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
Boost:
  • 1 to 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar*
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Stevia or honey
Cucumber Mint Refresher
  • 10 to 12 mint leaves
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
Boost:
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • Juice of 1 lime
Summer Love
  • 1 cup watermelon
  • 10 to 12 mint leaves
  • Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
  1. Drop (ingredients) in the bottom of the pitcher, cover with ice about 1/2 way up then add filtered water and stir. Place the detox water in the fridge for a few hours before drinking (2-4 glasses per day!).
  2. Ingredients listed are for a large 2 quart pitcher, reduce by half to use a 22-32 oz bell/mason jar.
Notes
*If you don't like the idea of drinking vinegar, try using a little less and drinking it through a straw. You can always leave it out, but will miss out on some of the detoxifying benefits. Give it a try and see how it goes!

Today I wanted to share a three day detox cleanse Ben and I tried a few weeks ago from a local juicer in San Diego. 


Previously i've tried to jump on the 10 day "master cleanse" bandwagon, but I lasted only 4 hours (despite having purchased a billion lemons).  Instead, I prefer a juice cleanse where I get to eat a healthy dinner because I feel like I am still getting the nutrients I need to sustain my workouts and get me through the day (and don't feel like i'm starving to death).  I also love to end the night (even when I am not on the cleanse) with my favorite detox tea, Kusmi, which helps makes me feel satisfied.


I like to use a yummy juice cleanse to either help kickstart my diet, shock my body, or just to simply rid myself of built-up toxins and give my digestive system a little break.


As we study for the bar exam Ben and I have felt super stressed (as you can imagine) and we thought it was a good time to clear it all out (literally).  Ben of course lost more weight on the cleanse (don't you just envy guys sometimes?), but I lost about 3 pounds.  If you have never done a cleanse before or don't normally eat clean, then it will be a definite shock to your body and you're likely to lose more.


But of course, I must add that I am not a doctor, nutritionist, specialist, or any other kind of expert... just your friendly online pal sharing her own personal experience.  If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant, are very active, or have any other general concerns, you should always consult your healthcare professional before beginning this (or any dietary) program.

Do NOT eat processed foods or drinks after the cleanse for at least 14-30 days.  Stick to eating all natural foods (fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc.).  While on the cleanse protocol, you began the cleansing and healing process.  You don’t want to undo the progress you’ve made!

Healthy Peppermint Grapefruit Detox

This detox water has ingredients that will clean out your kidneys, eliminate bloating and help you to enjoy much healthier skin. It also aids in digestion. Keep in mind that the more you refill your jug, glass or bottle with the same fruits, the more diluted and less nutrient-dense the fruit becomes. So I would recommend that after 2 or 3 refills, dump it and replace with fresh cuts to make sure you get all the vitamins and minerals you need. I also wouldn’t leave the fruits in there for more than 24 hrs before changing it.
