Saute for 5-6 minutes to soften. Then add the chicken breasts, broth, carrots, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper, turmeric and 1 teaspoon sea salt.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 20+ minutes, until the chicken breasts are cooked through. Then remove the chicken with tongs and set them on a cutting board to cool.</span></li>

Remove the lemon slices and squeeze their juice into the infused raspberry lemon water. I like to remove the lemon slices after 1 hour so the water doesn’t get too bitter from the rinds.</span></li>

Stir the water with a spoon, cover with a lid and put water back into the refrigerator overnight for the best flavor. You can leave the raspberries and dates in the infused water for up to 2 days before you need to strain them out of the water. You can eat or compost the raspberries and dates rather than just throwing them away. Most of the flavor will be extracted from the raspberries but you can still add them into a smoothie with the dates and other fruits and veggies. Enjoy!</span></li>

Plus, there is a different shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you don't feel like you are forcing down the same thing meal after meal.</span></div>

holistic naturopaths so I have only ventured down those 2 aisles with
the cage-free, animal by-product free, health-nut products as a
cut-through from the back of the store to the front. That is until I had
to buy the stuff for this detox. I tried to look as natural as possible
(pun intended) as I shopped for Coconut Oil and Flax Seed. And, I
actually found it quite fun to explore all these health-related
products. Did you know my local grocery store has a machine where you
can grind your own almond or peanut butter? How cool!<br />

But anyway, I was able to find everything at my regular old local HEB
grocery store. If you live in an area where your regular grocer may not
be as robust as this, I am sure everything can be purchased at a health
food store or "natural" grocery chain like Sprouts or Whole Foods. <br />

<span style="font-size: medium;"><b><i>Q. How much was it?</i></b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><b>A.</b></span> I'll be honest, it
wasn't cheap. I saved my receipt to add up what I purchased for the
detox and the grand total was $92.43. I'll break it out for you below so
you can see exactly what is needed. By the way, I buy organic for most
of my produce...at the very least, the ones on <a href="http://www.organic.org/articles/showarticle/article-214" target="_blank">this list</a>. Oh, and I already had a few things like the green tea and the epsom salt...so you'll want to add a few more bucks to this...<br />

So I'd pop a piece of gum and be good. I did cheat a little that
afternoon with a nibble of my son's nutri-grain bar (like, the smallest
nibble ever), but then I felt extremely guilty and just plain
disappointed in myself so it was easy to get back on track. Oh yeah, and
I ate some broccoli that night, but it is a green veggie so I let that
slide. By day 3, like any test of will-power, I was just ready for it to
be over with. However I always woke up looking forward to the breakfast
shake so that helped a little. After it was all said and done I
seriously felt SO good. My mind seemed clear, my belly pooch seemed
flatter and I just felt <i>refreshed</i>.</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Today I wanted to share a three day detox cleanse Ben and I tried a few weeks ago from a local juicer in San Diego. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Previously i've tried to jump on the 10 day "master cleanse" bandwagon, but I lasted only 4 hours (despite having purchased a billion lemons). Instead, I prefer a juice cleanse where I get to eat a healthy dinner because I feel like I am still getting the nutrients I need to sustain my workouts and get me through the day (and don't feel like i'm starving to death). I also love to end the night (even when I am not on the cleanse) with my favorite detox tea, Kusmi, which helps makes me feel satisfied.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">I like to use a yummy juice cleanse to either help kickstart my diet, shock my body, or just to simply rid myself of built-up toxins and give my digestive system a little break.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">As we study for the bar exam Ben and I have felt super stressed (as you can imagine) and we thought it was a good time to clear it all out (literally). Ben of course lost more weight on the cleanse (don't you just envy guys sometimes?), but I lost about 3 pounds. If you have never done a cleanse before or don't normally eat clean, then it will be a definite shock to your body and you're likely to lose more.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">But of course, I must add that I am not a doctor, nutritionist, specialist, or any other kind of expert... just your friendly online pal sharing her own personal experience. If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant, are very active, or have any other general concerns, you should always consult your healthcare professional before beginning this (or any dietary) program.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Do NOT eat processed foods or drinks after the cleanse for at least 14-30 days. Stick to eating all natural foods (fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc.). While on the cleanse protocol, you began the cleansing and healing process. You don’t want to undo the progress you’ve made!</span><br />

In fact, if you plan on doing this cleanse for any longer than 14 days, I suggest you do so under the supervision of a medical professional. Additionally, please keep in mind that a detox is about detoxifying the body of harmful toxins that have accumulated inside the body over the course of many years and can lead to some diseases, weight gain, etc. A detox is not about weight loss alone – however, weight loss is usually a “side effect” of doing a detox since so many toxins are stored in fat cells. Please keep this in mind when doing this detox. The goal here is to make you healthier, not just skinnier. Happy Cleansing!</span></div>
